"Sweets on a Stick" Blog Tour

Why are we so fascinated with food on sticks? What is it about popping food on a stick that makes it so much cuter? Put a treat on a stick and all of a sudden, it POPS! It's as if those sticks are magic wands whisking away the everyday and replacing it with fabulous and fun yumminess fit for a celebration.

I've been asked to review the entertaining new cookbook, Sweets on a Stick: More Than 150 Kid-Friendly Recipes for Cakes, Candies, Cookies, and Pies on the Go!. There is so much to love about this book but the best part is kids can get in on the fun with these scrumdiddlyumptious dessert recipes!

Whether it's cake pops or candied fruit, this book offers a variety of treats to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth such as: Mini Boston Cream Pies, Fudge Blasted Brownie Bites, Gooey Caramel Candy Apples, Deep Freeze Chocolate Bananas With full-colour photos and step-by-step instructions.

While browsing through the cookbook, I was having a serious chocolate craving. With so many delectable treats to chose from, I was having a hard time choosing. Then I came upon the Blasted Brownie Bites .... oh my gosh. I think we have a winner!

They are easy, fast, and they can be decorated anyway that you desire. Set out bowls of candies and sprinkles, and children will have a blast finishing their brownie pops.

Linda Vandermeer started cooking with her mother as a child and now encourages her three children to help her in the kitchen. Inspired by their creativity, she started her blog BubbleandSweet.blogspot.com, which features all of her delectable creations. Her recipes have been published in Peekaboo Magazine and Adore magazine. A stay-at-home mom, she lives with her husband and three children.
