Tomorrow I'm making Rootbeer Whoppie Pies for my grandson. Hopefully they will look totally amazing. Then I'll be able to share a fabulous photo with you. If you're lucky I'll provide you with the recipe.

I really want to get in to whoppie pies - I think it would be wonderful to experiment with the cake and filling. On the plus side, they're not as heavy as cupcakes - so you can eat more of them!

I love them too! I tried them for the first time this year and I'm absolutely hooked! How do you make the root beer variety? With actual root beer, or with extract? I've never seen the extract in shops, only read about it in blogs.
I have not had a whoopie pie in years, my mom made them a few times when we were kids, but not often! Can't wait to see your recipe pictures! I did not realize there were many kinds, that show on the cover of your book!
