Don't Be Skeered

When we moved into our new home, December 2007, I decided I wanted to make draperies for Pap's library. At the time I imagined him staring in disbelief at my finished handwork, the amazement written all over his face. "Oh honey," he would say. "This is just magnificent. You truly are the best wife that ever existed." I would bask in all the glory but answer with a humble "Oh, it was nothing, really".

Little did I know when I purchased that fabric. That it would sit in the corner of our home office for the next two and half years, tormenting me. I made every excuse possible not to begin cutting into that bolt of expensive material for fear I would make a terrible mistake.

Yes, I realize how pathetic that is. I had become wimpy Moogie. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I came to my senses. I was no longer going to let a bolt of fabric intimidate me. So I picked up my scissors and made my first cut. It was all a breeze from there. And I not so humbly wallowed in Pap's well deserved praise.

Good Job Moogie! I have been intimidated a few times by crafting undertakings I agreed to do. You are right-the first step is usually the hardest.

You're a much, much better woman than I am Moogie. The material I bought to make a dress is now a tablecloth. At least that's what I call a long piece of unsewn fabric.

Those look great!!! I always think my husband will reply in that manner to everything I do. Usually I just get a "that's good" "looks good" or "i like it" and a peck of a kiss that is so fast I'm not sure if he did it or not!

Thanks for the comment and follow! Now I'm your newest follower! *winks*
