Snow?

The big question..... will it snow in Atlanta? As of last night the weather people are saying 1-2-inches on Thursday night. There will be madness in the grocery store as everyone stocks up on bread and milk. But that's okay, while they are all preoccupied in the other aisles, I'll be able to load up on flour and sugar.

The funny thing about the whole situation is that it will have all melted within 24 hours. And all that will be left is the folks recounting how they survived the blizzard of 2010.

Thursday
High 41
Low 19

Snow Showers
Partly cloudy skies during the morning hours will give way to occasional snow showers in the afternoon. Precipitation may start as some rain or sleet. High 41F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%.

sigh... I live in Kansas City. We get snow every year, but like Atlanta, it usually is gone within a couple days. we got 8 inches of snow on Christmas Day, it is still here, and another 6 inches coming... sigh

It sounds funny to stock up for one or two inches. In New York, that would be a no-nothing snow. They are usually a blink of the eye.

Now, tell us twelve inches, we would react.

With the first flake of snow, schools will all close, most retailers, including malls will close. Gas stations will stay open if they can, also grocery stores and drug stores.

I'm looking forward to 8" here in Indiana tonight (and you can take that anyway you want...HEE!)

When I first moved to VA (from upstate NY) I couldn't believe how crazy everyone got when there was snow in the forecast. You couldn't find a loaf of bread or roll of toilet paper within a 100 mile radius! Still cracks me up!

Mags, you are hilarious. I do believe you will be walking like an old cowboy tomorrow morning.

Susan, the first flake hasn't even fallen and they already scheduled the schools for half-day tomorrow. The snow is supposed to start sometime tomorrow afternoon.
