Our Clubhouse was having an end of summer beach blast at poolside. Frozen Margaritas were the drink of the day even though it was only 1:00 in the afternoon. But why wait till evening to get a little tipsy?
In addition to all the Jimmy Buffet music you could stand, they had a Shark Art Contest. Well, I'm a baker, so of course I had to make mine out of flour and sugar. And it just so happened that I saw these adorable sharks in my newest cookbook... Hello, Cupcake!
Unfortunately my sharks did not look as good. But my waves on the cupcakes kicked ass. And besides, after all those Margaritas no one even noticed or cared how pitiful my sharks looked.

Instead of the life preservers I decided to go the more gory route. Yep... body parts floating on the waves. How delicious is that? :)

I used Wilton's pink candy melts. And while browsing the craft store I came across a flexible mold for doll parts. It worked super great. The end result was acceptable and guess what? I won the contest!! My daughter will get a big laugh out of that because she knows how competitive I am.

Foolishness! Your sharks are fabulous! :) You certainly deserved first place. It woulda been a crime if this didn't win.
So adorably, dangerously sweet and bloody! I give this the Piemancer seal of approval.
These are AWESOME!!! LOL
Thanks ya'll. The hands and feet were fun to create.
Wow. These are amazing! You rock.
That's sooooo cool! I think I'll need to make some of those the next time I watch Jaws :)
